Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment
Environmental risk and impact assessments are necessary during various stages of project implementation to ensure that the environmental implications of decisions are taken into account before the decisions are made. The process, required by several regulatory agencies and governments, involves an analysis of the likely effects on the environment of a proposed action, recording those effects in a report, undertaking a public consultation exercise on the report, taking into account the comments and the report when making the final decision, and informing the public about that decision afterwards. In the Applied Geology and Geochemistry Group, we are equipped with several highly sophisticated modeling, decision-making and experimental tools that place us in a unique position to conduct detailed analyses, assess designs, and develop environmental risk and impact assessments for diverse projects.
